Rhys is a socially inept and awkward man who always manages to make the room slightly more uncomfortable. Social cues fly right over his head, and he's seems to have given up on socializing entirely. He has a flat affect when he speaks and often avoids eye contacts with others, even covering up his face entirely with his huge jacket. He doesn't care enough to bother others for anything.
